skyeathena did this on her journal, and I liked it, so I'm
stealing it doing it as well.
LJ Things That Annoy Me.1.) It is really rather annoying when people post off-topic things in communities, apologise for it, then spam every other community they belong to with the same shit. What really gets me is when someone actually points out how annoyingly off-topic it is, and the OP gets her knickers in a twist about it. These same people get pissed off when others post OTs in communities, but can't understand why people get mad when they do it.
2.) I know journals are personal, and people should be allowed to say what they want, but when people tYpE LyK DiS, it is extremely off-putting.
3.) I try my best to use proper grammar, spelling, and syntax in my entries. I know that people (inluding myself) are judgemental, and since this is the only picture many people have of me, I am most likely being judged by the content of my journal. I would like to think that I come across as fairly intelligent and literate. It bothers me that some people don't make the effort to spell things correctly or use proper grammar. We all make mistakes, but a little effort goes a long way.
4.) I will write about what I want to write about. Feel free to take the piss out of me if you find it necessary, just be warned I will do the same to you if the opportunity presents itself. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, so don't come whinging to me if I hurt your feelings. Chances are, everyone else is thinking that you're an idiot- I'm just the first to say as much.
5.) If someone says something that upsets you, you have the right to defend yourself without apology. I know that
seems to contradict the above point, but it really doesn't when you think about it. There are ways to defend a position intelligently, and if you do that, no one will call you a wanker unless they choose to stoop to a juvenile level.
6.) It annoys me when people feel that they must apologise for posting things in their own journals. Never apologise for anything- just be ready to defend your position, unless you are a coward.
7.) Yes, I do put most of my life in my journal, but please don't assume that it is my entire life. I don't talk about every little thing that happens to me, and I don't imagine everyone else does either. I don't presume to know everything about a person just by reading his or her journal.
8.) Don't shove your religious/political/social views down my throat. You are entitled to your opinion, as am I. I am no better or worse a person than you because I don't share your beliefs.
A lot of these are along the same vein, I know. Oh well. You know where to complain about it. Not that I'll give a monkey's left bollock, but you can say what you want.
