seethingheathen: (back off jack off!)

Poor Elijah. (Sarcasm, really.)

I always miss Graham Norton. Always. But, thanks to Ms [livejournal.com profile] englshangel, I am now fairly up to speed.

And I wish I weren't. So, without further ado, I bring you Sonja's Latest Fandom Rant.

Whether Elijah is gay, straight, bisexual, or none of the above should be irrelevant in the world of Slash Fiction. It is called fiction for a reason. If Elijah et al were really up to the things we like to write about them getting up to, I think it wouldn't be as fun to write about it. It would be a bit like writing an essay on the Crusades or something. No one wants to write about factual events.

It is my personal opinion, however, that Elijah could possibly be bisexual. But it is not my business, and I don't pretend to know for sure, it's just an opinion. I also happen to believe that Orlando Bloom and Dominic Monaghan have spent time on the other side of the fence. I could be wrong, and I probably am, but I am allowed to think what I like.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand: Rabid Elijah Protector-Girlism.

Rabid Elijah Protector-Girls join the ranks of the Fandom Extremists such as Rabid Viggorli Slashers and Rabid Tinhatters and Tinkilters. Fandom Extremists are always taking fandom too fucking seriously, when really they should just sit back, enjoy the smut, and not worry about who the boys are and aren't screwing in their real lives.

I suppose I fall into another category of Fandom Extremism; Rabid Get-Over-Yourselves-It's-Fictionism. We in this category tend to believe that while Elijah and Dom make a great pairing, so do Elijah and Orlando, Billy and Dom, Billy and Orlando, and sometimes even Elijah and Billy, among other pairings. We don't really believe that they are fucking each other, or if we do, we don't berate others with differing opinions. Unless they happen to be Fandom Extremists, and then we just write long-winded rants about them in our journals.

I have four words for all these Fandom Extremists.

Fandom Is Fucking Funny.

I wish I had been the smart person who came up with that concept, but alas, I am not. Therefore, I am reduced to blathering on about idiots in my journal.

If you want to know what brought this on, have a shufty at this. It should clear it up for you.

And, by the way, if you are wondering whose side I am on, I agree that it was all in good fun what happened on the show, and if Elijah didn't want the manips brought up, then he wouldn't have gone there. He had to know that anyone who gets on VGN is going to end up in some sort of situation. He wants to be British so bad, he can take what comes with it. Heh. It's not just an accent, darling. It's a mindset.
