I can't take it.
There is a company called NetSpend that offers MasterCard cheque-cards for people without bank accounts or means to apply for credit. You may remember me saying some time ago that I put all my cash on that card. Two thousand USD.
One month and 2 nasty phone calls later, I have not received the cheque-card. Yes, I have a cash card that I can use to get small amounts of cash if I need to, but I cannot use it for purchases. Which, as some of you know, sucks bullocks with great intensity.
This morning I sent them an email telling them where they could stuff their card, and I wanted my money back. They are sending me a cheque. It will take 3-5 weeks. I cannot wait 3-5 weeks. I need it now. So, I called my dad, and he's going to wire me the money for my plane ticket on Monday.
I feel like I have been giving people the run-around, and I reckon I have, but it has been out of embarrassment and frustration. The passport thing was my fault, but this stupid MasterCard thing really isn't. Come Hell or high water (yes, I did just say that), I will be in Australia by 15 January. Or I will die trying.
