Fan Fiction Meme.
Dec. 29th, 2003 08:05 amI stole this from
endless_fever. And I'm not going to cut it. And I sound like a pretentious cunt doing a press interview, but I don't give a monkey's.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Well, I've certainly written more RPS than I thought I would.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2003?
In January 2003, I had never even heard of fan fiction. Then, I started reading and writing LotR FPS. RPS still made me uneasy, but then I moved from FPS to RPS, I think after having visited Lure of the Ring. I've written one crossover, LotRiPS/Boondock Saints FPS, but that's all.
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.
My favourite story of the year would have to be Vibrant and New, because it has an OMC that is actually my mate, Liam. I think I like that one best because the idea of Liam and Orlando together makes me a bit randy. Unless you mean one that someone else wrote, and then there is a tie between The Games We Play by Menel, and The Question by Belinda. Brilliant works, those.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
I think writing an eight-chapter piece of fiction as my first ever project was a bit risky. I wanted to stay close to book-canon, but then in canon, male Elves aren't fucking one another. But people seem to like it, and it was archived a couple of places. That made me happy. I learnt that you have to write what you want to read, and not what other people want to read.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year?
I want to go back into FPS, and write more Elladan/Elrohir stuff. I love twincest, so that's what I want to do. I'm under a bit of pressure to work on the Sonja-Sue story as well, so maybe I'll finish that up. I may have to read the books again to get a refresher on the events. I don't like writing film-canon when I do FPS.
