Shakespeare Meme.
Sep. 24th, 2005 09:49 amI was going to do that Shakespeare meme that everyone's doing, but then I couldn't be arsed to type it out.
And then I thought, 'how lazy.' So, here's my Shakespeare. Please forgive any errors; it's been a few years since I've had to recite this or write it out.
From Macbeth.
She should have died hereafter;
There would have been a time for such a word.
Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time;
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury
Signifying nothing.
That has always been my favourite bit from my favourite play. I've had it memorised since school, simply because in my drama class once, we had to choose a favourite bit from Shakespeare and perform it.
Now I feel like making a Macbeth icon. Thanks, meme.
