I've just had the most bizarre dining experience ever, and I eat at a lot of restaurants. I'm not sure whether to be flattered or slightly creeped out.
I went to Chili's for dinner, and I sat at a bar table because I was alone. Shortly after I got my food, a couple was sat at a table sort of perpendicular to mine. The woman kept looking in my direction. I didn't think anything of it, because there were televisions set up around the bar area, so I thought she was watching televsion. She and the man she was with appeared to be about average, maybe a bit yuppie-ish, but not overly so. Anyway, when I had finished my dinner and then my dessert and was ready to leave, the woman came over to me and said, 'My husband and I have been watching you eat. You have the most impeccable table manners we have ever seen.'
What? Who the hell says that to a complete stranger? I just said thank you and left. Seriously, what?
