2008 Meme.
Dec. 31st, 2008 08:06 pmStolen from
lovestyle and eleventy billion other people. Oh, and? Cuts are for PUSSIES.
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
I don't think I did anything new this year. That's sort of sad, I guess. I'm a status quo kind of girl though; I like things to stay pretty much the same.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I don't make resolutions, because I would never keep them. I am surprisingly unmotivated for a Slytherin.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
I'm actually a bit shocked that my sister didn't. But that's probably because she has the same boyfriend she did last year, and she's a one kid per guy sort of person.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Malcolm. He was my gerbil, and I think he died this year. Yeah, he did.
5. What countries did you visit?
England, heh.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
Sex.
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
American election day, but I can't remember the date, and I'm too fucking lazy to look it up.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Yeah, okay.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I didn't really fail at anything. Of course, I didn't try anything, so.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I've cut the hell out of my hands a few times since working for B, but nothing major.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I bought a new computer. I love buying new computers.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I'm still pretty damned proud of the majority of America, actually. GOBAMA!
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
No one specifically, I guess, but the people who think Obama is a terrorist/socialist/sekrit 'muslin'. Those people can eat a dick. I don't care who you support or don't support, but at least be intelligent about it.
14. Where did most of your money go?
I honestly do not keep track of my finances, so I have no idea. Probably cigarettes.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My impending foray into the literary world. If I can get published, that is, heh.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
That Weezer song about pork and beans. Goddamn, I am so sick of that song.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i) Happier or sadder? I don't know! I just am.
ii) Thinner or fatter? Surprisingly thinner. Not eating regularly has a tendency to have that effect.
iii) Richer or poorer? Maybe a tiny bit richer, now that I have a job and all.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
I'm okay with what I've done.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
See above.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent it at home in Engerland with my family.
21. Did you fall in love in 2008?
Fuck no.
22. What happened to question 22?
Bermuda Triangle?
23. How many one-night stands?
I haven't had sex in years, seriously.
24. What was your favourite TV program?
Pushing Daisies. Oh, and New Amsterdam, but that shit got cancelled after only one series. I was so upset!
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope. I still loathe most of the population.
26. What was the best book you read?
There were a few good ones: Lamb, by Christopher Moore, and Neverwhere and American Gods, by Neil Gaiman.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I'm not a new music person. I like what I like, which is as old as your mum.
28. What did you want and get?
Er, well... I pretty much get everything I want, and I want a lot, so everything?
29. What did you want and not get?
Nothing.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Let the Right One In, or what I saw of it. Oh, and Wanted was surprisingly good.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I don't remember what I did, but I was twenty-nine.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I don't know, really. Other than my father not being sick, but he's (sort of) okay now, so that's better.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Hey, clothes! I think I'll wear them! I have no fashion concept. Sometimes, I'm dressed all in black. Sometimes, I wear weird colour combinations and strange things that most people wouldn't be seen dead in. Maybe that's it- my personal fashion concept is Helena Bonham Carter, v 2.0.
34. What kept you sane?
Who the fuck said I was sane?
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
For a few days, I wanted to fuck the shit out of Robert Pattinson. I'm over it now, though.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I know I should say Prop 8 or something, but everyone else is angry enough for me. I'll let them fight the good fight. If I want to marry a woman, I'll go to a civilised country like my own. HAHAHAHA, yeah.
37. Who did you miss?
My parents and my niece and nephews.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Kristen, most definitely. She's this crazy girl from upstate New York who thinks everyone wants in her knickers, but she's okay. I don't really like being around other people, but I can take her in small doses.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
Huh. I don't think I learnt anything I didn't know in 2007 that changed my life.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
BLAAAAAAH. I don't know! Er, um, yeah.
