Yeah, I Know.

I know I piss and moan a lot in my journal, but I'd like to think that it's part of my charm. Today's topic is Fic Searches!

No, I'm not complaining about people doing fic searches in general. Sometimes, you're just in the mood for flangsty H/D and you want some recommendations. And, sometimes you had a link for a specific fic, and now that link is broken, and you need some help in determining if the fic is even still available online. No worries there.

But! For the love of all that is blasphemous, there are times when a Google search will get you what you want. Case in point: Someone recently asked for help finding a specific fic that she could not remember the title of, but she knew other details. It was a songfic, and she remembered the name of the song. I have never read the fic (songfics suck balls, people), but I found it for her via...Google. How, you ask? By typing in the pairing and the name of the song. Crazy, I know! And it was the very first result, so I know she didn't even try.

I guess my point is that you should at least try to find what you're looking for before getting others to do your legwork for you.

TL;DR.

I've been reading a lot more lately (I've only just now ventured into the postings at the Carnival), and it's gotten me to thinking about my own pet hates. This post was somewhat inspired by Bryoney's most recent post, but not really. It was more inspired about the thing she was posting about.

Also, I mean no offence to any authors on my flist who may do these things, as I do some of them as well (and cringe later). So, if you're offended, that wasn't my intention. I'm just rambling, and anyone who knows me knows that everything I say should be taken with a grain of salt. So, without further ado...

Wow. That went on longer than I thought. I just didn't want to make a list without explaining myself, so forgive my teal deer. Also, debate is welcomed. I know that not everyone likes what I like and will agree with everything I say. I'm not trying to change your opinions; I'm just expressing my own. Feel free to do so here as well.

I really hate the word 'husband'. No, this isn't a fic rant, I just don't like the word in general. HUSBAND. Hate it.
